Hosted by the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development the event features carefully selected innovators from around the globe to share their experiences on creating the innovation spark. Mr. Garcia who has over 20 years of entrepreneurial experience is no stranger to accelerating innovative ideas. As the co-founder of a rapidly expanding blockchain-based fintech company Uulala his desire to drive global innovation is at an all-time high.
During his time on the stage at TEDxEBRD Mr. Garcia will be discussing the economic benefits of supporting immigration in the mobile-based economy during a time when migration is at the highest rate we have seen since WWII. As the son of an immigrant, who through hard work and dedication was able to elevate himself and his family out of poverty, he will use a compilation of hard data and personal stories to demonstrate how nations and businesses can either prosper by fostering positive immigrant integration or suffer economically by implementing anti-immigration laws and policies. He hopes to ignite empathy and understanding in the audience and squash the common and misleading political rhetoric that has labeled immigrants as the enemy rather than the true economic, community building force the data shows them to be.
“I am honored to be selected for this TEDx event to share my personal story of what my family endured being outside the traditional financial system and how through hardship innovation can be born. Uulala has been created to service the millions who have been cast aside, to provide them dignity and how accepting this current migration economy can support a double or triple-bottom-line business“ stated Garcia.
TEDx events are local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. They have created a launching pad for many new innovations and conversations globally and Oscar Garcia is excited to bring his immense passion and knowledge on this very relevant topic to the TedX stage in London.
